Gorgie
- Dalry area
A once run down but now rejuvenating area
of high density population. Traditional tenements stretch along
the main shopping street from Haymarket almost out to Saughton
prison. Young first buyers live side by side those born and bred
in the area. Heart of Midlothian FC's Tynecastle Park is here
a stone's throw from Rugby's Murrayfield Stadium. A recent venture
is a huge new leisure complex with cinema, bowling, nightclubs
and pubs at Fountain Park.
For the purposes of this guide, some of
Fountainbridge has been included. See Lothian
Road, Tollcross for details.
